Champollion decries that it is all modern (Greek and Roman) stuff.
The temples have many images like this in many rooms. It seems indeed of a lesser artistic quality than work from pharaonic times. One gets a sense of templates. Champollion wrote: j’étais bien las de cette sculpture barbare, I was tired of this barbaric sculpture.. -

New house Everything is always an adventure. Today i took a boat to move just a little more South, close to Philae. I expected to be brought to the East bank of the Nile. Instead was dropped on the West bank in the Nubian village. From there i cycled. Receiving many smiles, playing music with an Egyptian flute player, while i played my Hebron flute.
The ferry that i came across was only for the company working there, so i had to go a bit further to the bridge, kubri. There the military forbade me to cross on bicycle, despite my pleas that my booked guest house was on the other side.
Finally i was able to put bicycle and luggage car on the back of a pickup truck and thus made it to the other shore 🌞
Watch the bird. It road with us on the boat for at least 1 km, comfortably looking around.
