Boats to take tourists to Philae and electricity pylons to transport what is generated at the Aswan Dam.

A loong cycling journey from Brooklyn to Jorusalom, where the O’s are bicycle wheels, continued into Egypt, 1st to the climate conference COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh, on to the pyramids in Giza, Abusir and Saqqara and then up the Nile soourcewards.

A lot of morning traffic to the island Philae

Going to Philae
Champollion decries that it is all modern (Greek and Roman) stuff.

Everything is always an adventure. Today i took a boat to move just a little more South, close to Philae. I expected to be brought to the East bank of the Nile. Instead was dropped on the West bank in the Nubian village. From there i cycled. Receiving many smiles, playing music with an Egyptian flute player, while i played my Hebron flute.
The ferry that i came across was only for the company working there, so i had to go a bit further to the bridge, kubri. There the military forbade me to cross on bicycle, despite my pleas that my booked guest house was on the other side.
Finally i was able to put bicycle and luggage car on the back of a pickup truck and thus made it to the other shore 🌞

The kingfisher, or ‘stealer of fish’ in Arabic.
And my futile attempts to catch them on film poising in the air and then diving for a catch.

We have reached Aswan!
