From the Mohammed Ali mosque one can see the pyramids
This is a portrait of the ruler of Egypt from 1805 to 1848, considered the founder of modern Egypt, with the pyramids in the background.

The Monastery of St Simon “The Tanner” is recent, as are the religious reliefs

There are 2 churches, one is under the rocks and indoor, the other is under a different rockface and outdoor.
The funniest part was discovering that above one of the rock churches on the plateau are 2 football fields, where games were being played ⚽️https://www.samaanchurch.com/en/home

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_the_Tanner (where it says ‘stumble’ in the article, in the church relief it says ‘sin’ – which made me reflect upon the equation of sin with sex and how a lot of religion seems to deal with the disruptive forces of attraction to others, and yes, there are other sins too)

Looking out of the bathroom window -
Yesterday morning early i was in the King’s chamber(10) of the Cheops or Khufu pyramid. It was still quiet, just a few people. A bit later many people were ascending as i was descending (along the same steep stairs passage, 2-6-9).

See the explanation of this diagram in https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Pyramid_of_Giza. The chamber is at the bottom of the structure in red. Inside one only sees the chamber, not the structure, or airshafts (the two diagonal lines with also 10)
Just out of the pyramid, crowds there by now Then i took a long walk around the pyramids and into the desert

(Just learning the alphabet is really difficult, as the letters are written differently when they are at the beginning, in, or at the end of a word)
